Pups & Paint: The Creative Force Behind Our Murals at Pup Social

Art Meets Off-Leash Joy at Chicago’s Pup Social

When we set out to create Pup Social, we knew it had to be more than just an off-leash playground—it needed to be a vibrant celebration of Chicago’s creative spirit. We envisioned a space where every wall could tell a story, where color, character, and community came together to reflect the deep bond between pups and their people.

To bring that vision to life, we partnered with Studio W.I.P. @thestudiowip (formerly Native 312 Events), a Chicago-based art consultancy and production company formerly known as Native 312 Events. Known for curating immersive experiences that reflect the energy of urban street art, they were the perfect creative force to help shape our space. Spearheaded by our founder Aly, alongside creative directors Adam Dittmann and Masha, the conceptual production was a true collaboration.

Celebrating Local Talent Through a Competitive Mural Program

We launched a competitive mural proposal process, calling on Chicago’s rich pool of street artists to submit designs. We handpicked a lineup of talented local Chicago artists to transform Pup Social into a vibrant, ever-evolving canvas celebrating the city’s creative spirit—and the unbreakable bond between pups and their people.

A Personal Touch: The Dogs Behind the Art

Look closely at the murals, and you’ll notice familiar furry faces:

🐾 Ozzie, our very own Chief-Pup-Officer, Aly’s loyal road trip co-pilot and the original inspiration behind it all!
🐾 Millie, the sweet and sassy Frenchie — and beloved pup of our commercial broker, Deena Zimmerman, who’s supported PupSocial since day one.
🐾 Graphite, North Carolina resident— a cherished pup our founder’s close friend, who generously shared their professional expertise throughout the Pup Social journey.
🐾 Sersi, one of our radiant “three bright doggies,” known for her charm and queenly confidence.
🐾 Duckey, another of our mural’s shining pups — and the beloved dog of our incredible retail and events manager, always bringing joy (and a bit of mischief) to the team!

These dogs aren’t just cute—they represent the soul of the space. They’re the reason we built Pup Social, and the faces that now greet every guest, pup or person, who walks through our doors.

An Investment in Chicago’s Arts Community

Our mural program wasn’t just a design choice—it was an intentional investment in Chicago’s creative economy. Every artist was paid fairly, and we view the entire collection as a long-term commitment to uplifting local talent.

From the start, our creative directors were deeply involved in guiding the visual storytelling. Their goal? To ensure each mural felt joyful, modern, and inclusive—just like the community we serve.

More Than Murals—A Movement

By giving Chicago artists the space (and walls) to shine, we’re doing more than decorating—we’re creating a cultural canvas that invites everyone to play, explore, and belong. Whether you're snapping selfies with our pup portraits or simply soaking in the creative vibes while sipping a cocktail, we hope the art moves you.

Because at Pup Social, every tail wag and paint stroke is a celebration of what makes Chicago so special: its creativity, its community, and the unconditional love we share with our dogs.
